KivuWatt Impact Evaluation Study

Between 2015 and 2020, Blunomy (Enea Consulting) conducted the impact evaluation of the first Rwandan IPP project together with the FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank. The so-called KivuWatt project consisted in building a 26 MW on-grid facility using methane gas extracted from Lake Kivu deep waters as feedstock to produce electricity, which was connected to the Rwandan grid in 2016.
