During its missions, consulting and patronage alike, ENEA Consulting is being confronted with the issue of social and environmental performance and impacts evaluation. Assessment of these impacts is a prerequisite to more sustainable project development choices.Traditionally, a “project” is evaluated in a different way depending on the supervising entity. Whereas private sector gives priority to profitability, NGOs are concerned by the social and/or environmental impact of their work.
Nonetheless, the context is evolving. While private sector shows a growing interest in extra-financial indicators, NGOs yearn for the long-term viability of their work through economic self-sufficiency. As for public sector, it would like to be able to measure social progress.
The convergence is noteworthy. :
All players are looking for a way to evaluate projects along three axes: Economic, Environmental and Social.
